Deanne Jones Doherty

I graduated from MSU in 1973 with a BS in Elementary Education. I've been teaching second grade in the Elk River School District for the last 30 years. My husband, Pat, has been teaching Physics in the Osseo District for 37 years. We're both retired now and are just enjoying life on our little 36 acre hobby farm near Zimmerman. I used to show horses alot and do some competitive riding when I lived in Mankato. My three sons used to do some competitive riding at the MN State Fair and in 4-H for many years. Now we just do some relaxing trail riding throughout Minnesota and the surrounding states. We enjoy camping, swimming, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, and traveling. In January '09 we were in Mexico and in February we enjoyed the sandy beaches of Kauai, Hawaii. Retired life is wonderful!! I am anxiously waiting for some grandchildren though! I look forward to seeing you all in July.

I've been retired from teaching 2nd gr. at Zimmerman Elementary in the Elk River School district for 12 years now. We still have our 36 acre hobby horse farm at Zimmerman where we've lived for the last 41 years. We also purchased a lake home on Big Sandy Lake at McGregor where we spend our summers fishing, swimming, and boating. During the winter we love to go snowmobiling and ice fishing with our 6 grandsons who range in age from 4 to 10 years old. Our three sons and their families enjoy spending quality time with us at our cabin. There's never a dull moment with all those boys but I love it!!! They all enjoy riding horse, 4-wheelers, jet skiis, kayaking, games, cards, campfires, or whatever we plan. Life has been good! I look forward to our big 50th class reunion and reminiscing about the good old days at MHS!!
