Comments:

Hope the pandemic is long over so we can plan/produce our 55th Anniversary Reunion in 2014 - our 11th consecutive 5yr reunion. Few HS classes anywhere can claim an equally consistent effort. Sad to think of how many classmates are now gone.
--------------------------
Thought our 2019 50th Reunion was a great event.
--------------------------
10/28/17 - connecting with John Apitz this afternoon to drive to Mankato for an impromptu reunion-group-party gathering at Rounders - mostly to see Sally Beal, who has had a remarkable upswing in health after a months long period of low moments battling cancer. Hope we see a couple of dozen classmates.
-------------------------
2014:
Looking forward to this reunion. Expecting a greeat turnout. Hope to exhaust myself trying to catch up with everyone - those I knew and those I didn't know.
Just this year, I have now lived at our house in Edina longer than I lived in Mankato. Does that mean my home town changes - I don't think so.

Sad that since my parents are both gone, we make the trek to Mankato only for MHS reunions.
I hardly recognize downtown and I struggle to remember the street names I used to know so well. I even worked for the City of Mankato for 3 yrs after college in the Planning Department.

See you in Mankato for our Reunion Weekend.

School Story:

2001:

If I had to remember the two of the best and worst moments of high school, I might report as follows:

Worst Moments:
a. Sr. year, the morning my Dad thought I should go to school when the night before my mother barely survived a heart attack. The day only got worse.

b. Generally, I remember being sad that that when I was 17, I looked 14.
Best Moments:
a. Being Class Officer was a something of which I was proud - there was basically no work attached to the role. The ideal job - authority with no responsibility. There was just one time where I called on to represent our Senior Class and I wasn't there. During a homeroom-period football pepfest, I stayed behind to study. The seniors won the yell competition and the class prez was to run out and accept the spirit stick (or something) - luckily classmate Wayne Rudnick did the honors for the our class. He would be gone in a month from a fatal fall at Minneopa Park. I spent time with Mr. Rudnick, one of our HS janitors, trying to express how Wayne brought so much camaraderie to our class.

b. I was the last guy on the tennis team. The team played 5 matches each time we competed. So if the math was tied 2-2, my match (with my doubles partner) was the decider. I remember winning one of those 'decider' matches. The pinnacle of my MHS athletic career.

Bob
You should be coming to the reunion. DO you have a good reason for not joining us? You're in half of the yearbook photos - we want you to come!

A month out from our 50th reunion. I decided to retire so I wouldn't have any conflicts or work reasons to not attend. Hope that you are planning to come. The reunion planning committee has organized a wonderful 3 day program that will be what-a-reunion-should-be: rekindling friendships, remembering 1960's Mankato, cracking-up about adolescence, and maybe discovering that nostalgia about our high school years can be fun and therapeutic. So many people I would like to see - hope we get a great turnout. The most important part of the 3 day program has been creating atmosphere and places for people just to have time to talk. Of course there are good reasons why some classmates can't make it. Health, family duties, maybe work responsibities make it impossible to be in Mankato on October 10,11,12 impossible Cost shouldn't shouldn't be an impediment - we have funds espressly dedicated for reunion scholarships. If you want to come, we can help make it happen. If you can't make it, send me a video or a paragraph about what's going on in your life that we can share at the reunion.
Tens of thousands of high school reunions happen each year. Our MHS Class of '69 50th reunion will be among the best for design and execution - good food and drink, good places to meet and things to do. All we need is good attendance to make it a great event.

At this 50th reunion, we'll have to talk about whether or not we should plan for a 55th ang 60th events - what do you think?
If you have a moment, send a message of thanks to key reunion committee members: Sharon, Janet, Carol, Tom & Lynn. Apitz and I are exhausted just trying to keep up with them. See you in a month.

Call me if you need to be convinced to come: 952-994-5607.

Happy Birthday, Mateo.

Hard to believe that we set sail together in kindergarten and continued the journey through Gustavus Adolphus.

It only suggests we are getting better despite the gray ones around the temples.

Many happy returns of the day!!
