I wasn't sure what God was doing when I left Carlson Craft seven years ago, but I am living the best years of my life right now. I'm not sure Sue would say the same! We are always busy. Many days it feels like I never left the work force, except I don't recieve a paycheck. It seems if you can handle a wrench, you will have plenty to do. Sue and I do a lot of work for friends and relatives, everything form curtain rods to brake jobs. I also own a rental house so that is also time consuming. We are always running somewhere, eat to much fast food, and put 30,000 miles a year on our vehicals! The 67 Chevelle SS 396 you see in the pictures is a seven year project. Sue and I completely assembled the car. I have 4000 hours in it. I told Sue to get a gun and shoot me if I ever want to do another classic car. I'm way to much of a perfectionist to restore cars. I drive both of us nuts. This is the second car I have done. The other being a 1964 "409" Impala. The good thing is that we did this together and we are still married! Sue is my best friend and stuck with me through all my stages of insanity for 37 years. It's amazing how God has given her so much grace to forgive me continually. She is my quintessential soulmate. We live in the same house we built in 1977. Our health is relatively good, but we need to eat better and lose some weight! Now we just trust Christ to guide us through the last quarter of our life as He has all through all the valleys and mountain tops before.

I was never involved in any school activities because my family was broke and I needed to work. My first car, a '56 Chevy got 90 miles to the quart of oil! It looked like I was spraying for mosquitos at the Out Door theater when I drove it.
I worked at Bell's then Robbies during high school.
One day Sue and I were alone at Robbies after school and it was extremely busy for just the two of us. We even had a bus full of kids show up. As I was rushing to make hamburgers, I hit the pan holding the Dandy burgers( remember those?) and all the contents including the substantial amount of gravy hit the floor covering the entire area behind the grill. Not only that, but I slipped and fell in the Dandy sauce and I was covered from head to toe in this soup. On top of that Robbies had glass sides to the building so you could see behind the grill. Kids rushed to see what was going on and I can still see them laughing to this day. I told Bud Lawrence I'm not working after school anymore if there is only two people!
