I went to the "U" on the "extended study plan". I lived in Munich for a few years, came back to Mpls. for a while, moved to NYC for another few years, and returned once again to Mpls. I got married in 1989 and 2 years later discovered my true calling. Being a parent is fabulous... mostly. Of course in 2 years I'll have to decide what I want to do when I grow up. But so far I have avoided sticking a bobby pin in an electrical outlet, driving with my eyes closed, or getting trench foot, while succeeding in having my children roll their eyes and sigh heavily at me far too many times to count. So I am hopeful.
Update, 2014: Sadly divorced a couple of years ago. Been doing a part time Montessori school substitute staff gig. Heading back to Germany to visit friends in September. (The whole family lived there for a year in 2000.)
