Cindy Proehl left this world on August 3rd, 2023, peacefully, knowing she was loved.

She was born on December 16th, 1951 to Arlos and Betty Krueger, and spent her childhood growing up on a farm in rural Madison Lake, and attending primary school in a one-room schoolhouse where her father taught. She moved to Mankato to complete her high school degree at Mankato High School, graduating in 1969. She attended Mankato Vocational College for a short time, where she met Eldean. Star-crossed lovers from the start, they were married on May 1st, 1971, much to the chagrin of everyone during the middle of planting season. They moved to the family farm outside of Waldorf, MN, where she lived for the rest of her life.

She became a mother with the arrival of her son Nikolas, followed by her daughter Jennifer. She was a patient and kind mother, modeling the same love of learning and work ethic she inherited from her father. That love of learning was further realized in 1988, when she graduated from Mankato State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Economics and Business Administration. She was a successful career woman, rising from a start as a temporary office worker to retiring in 2014 as the Office Manager at American Linen after 25 years. Her love of learning, coupled with the demands of a changing world, led to her obtaining a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Phoenix University in 2005. Her father would be proud.

She was a voracious reader, and much of her free time was spent with a book in hand. When not lost in the pages of a book, she could also be found lost traveling the world with her husband. Their adventures took them places far and wide, including an extended trip to Europe in 2015, when they privately renewed their vows in Paris, and throughout the Southwest in an unforgettable homemade camper.

She lived a simple, hardworking life, yet one filled with a richness of experience that many never get.

She is survived in passing by her husband, 2 children, and 4 grandchildren; 4 sisters, 1 brother, and numerous nieces and nephews. She follows her parents into the next world.

Per her request, no memorial service will be held, and instead, laughter and memories should be had with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made to the International Wolf Center, in Ely, MN. She will be jointly interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with her husband, Eldean when that day comes.
