Peter "Pete" E. Marso

Peter “Pete” E. Marso, age 71, of Mankato, died Monday, January 30, 2023.

A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2023, at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to plant trees in Pete’s name.

Peter was born August 3, 1951, to Carl F. and Iva A. (Swenson) Marso in Mankato.  He graduated from Mankato High School in 1969 and later graduated from Mankato Vo-Tech with a commercial drafting degree. Pete served on the Vo-Tech board for many years.  Pete worked at Mueller Grocery Store and then MICO Inc. for over 41 years before retiring.  He enjoyed outdoor work with the Blue Earth County Parks Department for two years during retirement.

Pete was a member of the New Ulm Bass Angler’s.  He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling to warm climates, gardening and yardwork, and especially time with his grandchildren.

Pete is survived by his wife, Cynthia; children, Nathan (Lindsey) Marso, Maribeth Marso, Mitchell (Anna) Marso; step-children, Ryan (Lindsey) Swing, Katie Swing, Laura (Andy) Stueven; grandchildren, Breanna, Mackenzie, Avery, Renee (Steffen), Zoey, Lilly, Blake, Devon, Gage, and Harley; great-grandchildren, Dominick, Dawsyn, Bella, Rusty, Bentley, and one on the way; sister, Monica (Rome) Reichel; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Iva; step-son, David Swing.
