Raymond E. "Ray" Black, Jr., age 61, of Eagle Lake, died Saturday, February 9, 2013, at his home.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Jay Dahlvang officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Raymond Edward Black, Jr. was born August 14, 1951, to Raymond, Sr. and Madeline (Youell) Black in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1969. Ray achieved an Associate degree in autobody from South Central College in 1972. On May 5, 1973, Ray was united in marriage to Rhonda Throldahl at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. They were blessed with four children. Ray enjoyed body work and was an autobody repairman for 30 years. Later, he worked for Katolight for about 10 years, and most recently, Hermel for about 7 years. Ray enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, NASCAR, working on his Mustang, and spending time with his family.

Ray is survived by his wife Rhonda; children: Jason (Angie) Black; Amy (Dan) Rademacher, Carissa (special friend, Justin Lutterman) Brink, and Rick Black; seven grandchildren: Aaron, Ethan, Carter, Mitchell, Caitlin, Taylor, and Nathan; 11 siblings: Mary, Lynn, Judy, TJ, Barb (Greg), Peggy (Curt), Sue (Ron), Deb (John), Tammy, Tim, and Kim; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willy; brother-in-law, Chuck; and niece Angel Black.
